Frequently Asked Questions.

Where do you ship to?

Currently we ship to U.S, Canada, Mexico, France, Germany, Austria, Spain, Sweden, Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom.

We hope to add more countries soon! If you don’t see your country on our list, shoot us a message and we can look at adding it!

PLEASE NOTE: for international orders, you are liable for any customs fees your package may incur as almost all items originate from the United States. VAT is included in the Shipping cost.

How long does shipping take?

Because each item is made when you order, our order processing is longer than what you might be used to with something like Amazon Prime.

  • For US orders, you can expect around 10 business days.*

  • International orders, you can expect 12-18 business days depending on the country.

  • For embroidered items, please add 2-5 business days to the timeline as these take longer to produce.

  • All orders will receive tracking information via email once your item(s) ship.

  • For any custom orders, please reference the turnaround time shared on the product listing page.

*Shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and unincorporated territories of the United States can take an additional 7 – 12 business days.

What’s your Returns/Replacements policy?

All sales are final. All our bookish goods are made to order, especially for you, so all purchases are non-refundable/no returns are accepted.

Replacements are possible for damaged or defective items. If an item is received with a defect or damage, please contact hello@valorandlore.com with at least three high res photos of the defect/damage WITHIN 30 DAYS of your order, so we can coordinate a replacement to be sent!

What if my package is lost?

If this unfortunate event happens and items are lost during a shipment we will coordinate a replacement with you, however, we are unable to refund or replace items lost after a delivery is confirmed or attempted via tracking. We are not responsible for any stolen items.

What kind of sizing do you offer?

We all deserve to feel cozy and love what we wear, no matter what size, and we are always looking to add a full range of sizes to our literary luxuries. We want to be as inclusive with sizing as possible, so you’ll find every clothing item goes from S up to at least 2XL, with items going up to 5XL as often as we can. Almost everything is unisex sizing unless otherwise specified, and each listing includes a sizing guide you can refer to in order to make the best size decision. For measuring, it’s great to take a favorite item from your closet to measure against.

I only received part of my order, where are my other item(s)?

Don’t worry—they’re on the way! I work with multiple printing partners/embroidery partners to ensure quality. And as each item is made to order, they may ship in more than one package if you ordered more than one item. You will receive separate tracking information emails, so rest assured, your items are not lost or forgotten. This reminder is also in your order confirmation email and tracking emails.

How do I care for my items?

While you might want to immediately wear your item (we get it), it’s always a good idea to wash your garment before wearing.

In order to make sure your shirt, sweatshirt, or hoodie stays looking fresh and feeling great, it’s best to wash the garment inside out in cold water and hang dry.

#ProTip: we prefer to hang dry all of our items as extended exposure to heat can break down the ink over time, and will also result in cracking of the print. If you must, you can dry on low temperature, but again, we DO NOT recommend drying.

Spot clean totes, and use a damp cloth for phone cases.

Jackets can also be spot cleaned or washed on cold water and hung dry. DO NOT put in the dryer.

Are your items officially licensed?

Yes! We have a mix of original/general bookish items, designs from public domain novels, and officially licensed designs for all Sarah J. Maas works and Fourth Wing and Iron Flame by Rebecca Yarros. You can check the disclosures page for more info.

Why are officially licensed items more expensive?

Give unto Caesar what is Caesar’s! Creating with integrity is the right thing to do. Unfortunately, being officially licensed also means the publisher or IP holder takes a large cut out of every licensed item we sell, so the price increases to help cover the cost. But know you’re supporting designs the Authors have given an official seal of approval on!

Do you offer custom gift messages?

Not at this time, but we hope to in the future!

Do you offer bulk ordering?

Thinking of stocking a Valor & Lore design in your brick + mortar shop or want to include a design in a subscription or PR box? Or maybe you’re looking for an event? We can make that happen! Currently only available to US businesses. Please contact hello@valorandlore.com to discuss options.

At minimum bulk orders must consist of 60+ units.
